Ananda Chandra College, Jalpaiguri, Is one of the oldest, reputed and prestigious colleges of north Bengal, under the University of North Bengal. The college has been performing very importance role in the field of higher education of the region since Its establishment In 1942. The college has produced large number of luminous stars In various field and they established themselves all over the world and making us proud with their works. For long time A. C. College and some Alumnis (Ex- students) of the college interacted among themselves to form an Alumni Association of this prestigious college to channelize the huge numbers of Alumnis (ex-Students) for the betterment of the college as well as for the alumnis (ex-Students). On the eve of Platinum Jubilee of the college, the college authority and some local established and dignified Alumnis ( ex-Students ) took active initiative to form an Alumni association on permanent ground to hold the Platinum Jubilee celebration throughout the year and to organize ceremonial programme of that and to take various pro-students and college initiative in future. For this purpose, in the beginning of December 2015, the college authority and dignified local ex-students decided to hold a general meeting on 12/12/2015 in the college premises to form a primary committee and arrangements were made for proper canvassing and propagation of the scheduled meeting. The college notified the meeting in its notice board on 4/12/2015, circulated the meeting through the college website (www.accollege.org), fixed some flex in different important places of the Jalpaiguri Town and also distributed leaflet in the town. Local TV channel 'JCC' broad cast the scheduled meeting throughout the week (3-10 Dec) in scrolled for m and the 'Uttar Banga Sambad' published the news on 4/12/2015. Accordingly the meeting held on the scheduled day i.e. 12/12/2015 in the room no 14 of the college premises. About 70 Alumnis (ex-Students) attended the meeting including some oldest Alumnis (ex-Students) of the college.
The meeting discussed and resolved the following issues:
1. Discussion lasted about 5 hours on different aspects and finally, all the participants unanimously agreed to form 'Ananda Chandra College Alumni Association' (ACCRA) and accordingly
the Association formed with an executive Ad-hoc committee, consisting of the following members (See Anexure-1) and also took the following resolutions for initial activities
2. The executive ad-hoc committee empowered
to work as working committee
3. The committee empowered to carry out all official and financial activities of the association.
4. The committee empowered to take active initiative for the registration of the Association under
the Sociaty Registration ACTs.
5. The committee will open a website for circulation and registration of the memberships of association by depositing /transferring Rs. 100 or Rs. 130. (Rs. 30 for outstation bank cheque)
